The Boukouvalas Language School was founded in 1973. English was the sole language of instruction until 1978 when French and German were added to the curriculum. 1979 marks the move to their own premises with the construction of the building on the corner of Papayianni and Athinas streets in Ano Elefsina.

The building is ultra-modern with air-conditioned facilities specially designed for use as a school. In addition to classrooms, each boasts an auditorium with state-of-the-art equipment for audio/visual presentations, a language lab and a computer workshop. Classes are limited in size and cover all levels in each language.

The curriculum includes university foundation courses, special terminology classes catering to employees in the private and public sectors and a wide selection of summer intensive courses. Teachers at the Boukouvalas School are highly trained professionals with many years' experience in foreign language instruction.

The text books and teaching reflect the latest developments in foreign language teaching, and especially for those students enrolled in the English language programme, the curriculum in large part consists of coursebooks, practice books, grammar and study aids from the growing corpus of EFL works authored by John Boukouvalas whose publications are used widely in Greece and in many countries abroad.

The Boukouvalas School, as measured against the national standard, boasts a consistently high rate of student success in the major foreign language exams administered in this country, namely the First Certificate and Proficiency exams of the University of Cambridge & Michigan, the Certificat of the French Institute and the Grundstufe and Mittelstufe of the Goethe Institute.

Sensitive to the needs of the community that supports them,and in an effort to contribute to the social and cultural well being of the region as a whole, the Boukouvalas School regularly offers scholarships to the students from local schools who maintain high grade averages or those who come from underprivileged families.
