Concise Dictionary of Mathematical Terms

The Concise Dictionary of Mathematical Terms is very useful, as a reference book of reliable definitions and accurate explanations of mathematical terms, for GCE , IB and all studying relevant to mathematics subjects, students.
As the first publication of its kind it definitely fills a gap and is a valuable aid in approaching mathematical terms both in Greek and English.

Nikos Mytilinaios is a Teacher of Mathematics. He has taught at Sevenoaks School, UK, Campion School and the GCE Department of Moraitis School in Athens, Greece.
He served as Director of Studies at a number of private educational institutions until 2008.
He is the author of Speak Mathematics, published by Litera Books for all Ages.
He lives in Athens, Greece.

“Our respected colleague Nikos Mytilinaios, in his work the Concise Dictionary of Mathematical Terms, shares his valuable and long experience as a keen Mathematician and the result is a brilliant, easy to understand, mathematical aid.
I warmly congratulate him and he deserves the best of praises.”

Konstantinos Stathakopoulos
Emeritus Professor, Faculty of Science,
University of Athens

“The Concise Dictionary of Mathematical Terms that Professor Nikos Mytilinaios presents is undoubtedly a useful tool for all students to advance their studies as well as researchers who use the English language as a basis.
It is also invaluable for teachers and scientists whose field of study extends into “the wonderful world of mathematics”.

However, the innovative element of this work lies in the fact that for most terms, there is a reference to the collocated parts (books) of the dictionary, where the mathematical definition and some explanations are given, always with the validity and strictness that distinguishes mathematics.

This dictionary, in the way it has been compiled by a qualified professor of mathematics, probably the first Greek publication of its kind, is a valuable aid in approaching mathematical terms in both languages”.

Aris Sisouras
Professor of Operation Research ,
University of Patras

“I have reviewed Mr. Mytilinaios' new dictionary and find that the word “dictionary” does not do full justice to its interesting concept.
This is a book which any enthusiastic student of mathematics should enjoy using”.

Evangelos Kladidis
Director of Studies
St. Lawrence College

“I know little about Mathematics. However, I have known Nikos Mytilinaios, for many years as a colleague, and as a methodical and effective teacher.

This experience convinces me that the book he has put together for the bilingual approach to Mathematics will also be scientifically correct and educationally efficient.

I wish him every success”.

Alexis Dimaras
ex. Head of Educational research center

“The Concise Dictionary of Mathematical Terms. I saw it. I admired it. I called it Useful but it is also Valuable.
I wish it much success”.

Vasilis Kremmidas
Peer Professor of the University of Athens

“The Concise Dictionary of Mathematical Termsfills a need in educational materials available to teachers and students of mathematics in English.
It is carefully structured for ease of use and the clarity of its approach is one of its major advantages”.

George Drivas
Head of the Department of
Foreign Languages of Doukas School
